Whitsett is a Nashville emo band making music for the ones who never quite fit — in the church, in the scene, or anywhere else.

Their sound lives in the space between throwback emo and modern alternative: big guitars, honest lyrics, melodies that stick. It's rooted in the early-2000s youth group era but it's never felt like a tribute act. It feels like something that still needs to exist.

Ryan Ward, Taylor Moser, Anthony Thigpen, Drew Smyser, and Corey Calvert write songs about real things — faith and doubt, joy and grief, the messy middle ground most music is afraid to sit in. Their live shows carry that same weight. People leave feeling like something happened.

They've toured alongside Mae, taken the stage at Furnace Fest and Alive Music Fest, and worked with artists like Emery and Aaron Gillespie. Their 2025 single "Call You Out By Name", produced by Jason Lancaster, is the clearest version of the band to date — and the start of something bigger.
